What is an industrial monitor and when is it used?
An industrial monitor is a robust display designed for demanding environments: dust, moisture, vibrations, extreme temperatures and continuous 24/7 operation. Unlike a Panel PC, it does not incorporate an internal computer, it acts as a display or touch interface connected to an external PC or PLC.
How to choose an industrial monitor
IP protection level
The IP protection level varies depending on the model and the industry: from IP65 for dust and splash protection, full IP66 for frequent cleaning with water, to IP69K for high-pressure applications in the food and chemical industries.
Size and resolution
From 7″ to 55″ with multiple resolutions: 7″ to 10″ for compact control panels, 15″ to 24″ for HMI and data display, and 32″+ for room control and multi-graphic setups.
Touch type
Resistive for use with gloves or in wet environments. Capacitive PCAP for multitouch and greater precision in modern operator workstations.
