What is an ATEX Panel PC and when do I need one?
An ATEX Panel PC is an industrial computer specifically designed and certified for use in zones where there is a risk of explosive gas (zone 2) or dust (zone 22) atmospheres. It is mandatory in sectors such as chemicals, petrochemicals, refining, food processing with organic dust and pharmaceuticals.
ATEX zone classification
Zone 2 – Flammable gas
Zone where an explosive gas atmosphere may occasionally form under normal operating conditions. The ATEX Panel PCs PROTEx and SECUREx are certified for this zone.
Zone 22 – Flammable dust
Zone where a cloud of flammable dust may occasionally form. Irontech’s ATEX equipment is certified for zones 2 and 22 simultaneously.
